it’s christmas eve! and that can only mean one thing… yes, it’s time for the much promised, custom drawn, super fantastic, christmas robot! many thanks go to my friend Ben, for drawing me one of the finest robots i ever did see. i stumbled across Ben’s blog a few months back while looking for robots on the internet, and he draws some of the best robots i’ve had the pleasure of looking at, so if you can, check it out. the link’s on my blogroll! many many thanks to him for indulging my request for him to draw me a christmas robot. kudos for such a fine effort!

ho ho ho! it’s that time again! we still seem to be covered in snow at the moment, though it’s debateable how much longer the slush and mud is going to be fun… the robot invasion advent calendar soldiers on, nonetheless, and today as we near the end of our festive robot odyssey, we get wished a very happy christmas by Optimus Prime himself! well i’ll be damned…

ok, so as i said in yesterday’s calendar entry, i woke up to find snow everywhere! unfortunately, the sun deigned to shine its rays all over that snow, meaning that by mid afternoon, the hills were back to their normal non-snowy hue and only select sun-shielded pockets near me survived to tell their Winter’s Tale. luckily, shortly after sweeping and gritting the driveway, i managed to make it out with Nigel for a bit of fun in the snow…

snow christmas robot

it was great! that is, until Nigel got stuck in a snowdrift…

christmas snowdrift robot

anyway… an excellent time was had by all! apart from Nigel maybe, who took an hour or so to unfreeze 😦 click on the photos for the big versions, as usual! hope you enjoyed day 19, we’re into the final week!

apparently snow has descended on the rest of the country again! i say apparently, because despite the blanket covering the rest of the country, Bristol has yet again been demonstrating its snow repellant powers. at the current time of writing, we have about 2mm of snow lying on the ground, so while i live in hope that i’ll wake in the morning to a scene resembling Narnia, for the moment, i’ll make do by posting up some more snowy robot pics. this one is a goodie!

robot snow watercolour

i’ve turned once again to deviantart, where Xanshabib offers us his robot Kness. beautiful bit of watercolour loveliness. only a week to go guys!

robot electronics

fun for all the robot family in this picture! it comes from the front cover of Popular Electronics magazine, published in 1958. a lovely example of 50s robot kitsch!

as avid readers of this site may have noticed yesterday, i mentioned that this blog has been getting unusually busy these past few weeks. search phrases such as ‘robot christmas’ and ‘christmas in the stars’ seem to have been bringing all the boys to the yard, so if you’re one of those noble few who have found your way to this blog by ways other than my facebook/twitter spam, then welcome! please please do come back once i stop posting the christmas pics! onto today’s entry, and day 16 of the robot invasion calendar…

robot santa imposter

it’s a picture of a robot santa imposter from the cover of Galaxy Science Fiction magazine, from 1950(ish). they really knew how to do sci-fi back then! keep an eye out for the next few ‘windows’ as i’ve had not one but two festive robot pictures comissioned, and one in particular which hit my inbox in the last 24 hours will knock your socks off! until then…
